Meet Alon Hadar
I’m a chef, food researcher and a journalist (“Ha’aretz”, “Yediot Aharonot”, “Time of Israel”, “Timeout” Tel Aviv). I was born and grew up in Jerusalem near the famous and colorful market, “Machane Yehuda”. In the past decade I’ve been working at some of the most trendy and valued restaurants in Tel Aviv, alongside some of the leading chefs in its celebrated culinary scene.
In NY I bring to life my grandmother’s Kurdish-Jewish food that she used to make at home and draw on the Palestinian, Levantine food that I was exposed to in East Jerusalem. These cuisines all share cooking with wild herbs, fresh vegetables and diverse kinds of wheat. Happy and healthy food. I religiously go early in the morning to the farmers’ market and choose the perfect fresh and seasonal ingredients to share with all food lovers.
